Had anyone told me nearly ten years ago that I was about to embark on a journey that would nourish me with words, laughter, great books and even better women; I might have shrugged. Ten years ago I wouldn’t have believed it. Today I can’t survive without it.
Ten years is my longest commitment on record…other than work. I manage to rouse myself each morning to the mantra “must be on time…must be on time” to the jobs I love and hate. But it stops there. I don’t set goals for myself and generally speaking, never finish what I start. That being said, I have flat spots on my ass and nobody recognizes me at the gym. I have a business license without a business, chipped toe nail polish, dogs not being walked, and a strange compulsion to buy Franklin Planners. But through the haze of my cluttered mind I can clearly see the pages before me. I always read. I breathe. I read. And for the past ten years I’ve been reading with a collective of remarkable women - each so individually unique and integral to the whole. We are now bound by much more than books. These women are my beacons, teachers, inspiration and family. Everyone should be so fortunate to have the joy and strength of great women in their life to laugh with, cry with, and of course, read with.
Happy 10th Anniversary!
